Facts about Custom Built Computers Vs. Mass Produced Computers I am a computer consultant, manufacturer of custom computers, educator of the value of a custom built computer over the readymade computer systems you may purchase at your local super stores. The computer you may purchase today is preceded by numerous sales to people just like you getting the same exact system you are seeking. This statement also holds true for those who purchase after you. * A custom computer is a computer built to your specific needs where as the super store computer is mass produced. * A custom computer is built with your specific needs in mind, where the mass produced super store computers are a one size fits all variety. * The builder of custom computers have a sense of pride with quality in mind using quality components giving the client more bang for their buck, where the manufactures of mass produced computers will use generic components and components of a lesser quality to keep their costs down. * The builder of custom computers will give a better guaranty and warranty on their systems because of the dedication and research that they put into the components and their manufacturers to insure you get the best quality in your computer system, most warranties will be 3 years or more. The manufacturers of mass produced computers will only give a 1 year warranty and extend it one more year if you purchase the extended warranty agreement. * The builder of custom computers will include all software with their systems which includes the operating system. The manufacturers of mass produced computers will create a hidden partition on the hard drive and install the software and operating system and you need to purchase the optional recovery discs. * The builder of custom computers do not include hidden partitions incase of hard drive failure, for this is the reason for the included software and operating system. The manufacturers of mass produced computers will sell you a new hard drive after failure minus any operating system leaving you to purchase a new licensed copy of the operating system and software you supposedly already own. * The builder of custom computers can be contacted during regular business hours unless otherwise specified for support. Whereas the majority of the manufacturers of mass produced computers are hard to get support or take too much of your precious time waiting for answers. The old story goes like this "You Get What You Pay For" but in the life expectancy of the mass produced computer it is more like "Why Pay the Cadillac Price For a Pinto?" Get the Cadillac get what you paid for. |
